About the position

The SAS Programmer Analyst will work with the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services to develop and implement data solutions for Medicaid programs. This role focuses on utilizing SAS Enterprise Guide and visual analytics to design data conversion strategies, real-time analytics, and reporting solutions. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.

Responsibilities

• Identify data sources and data elements to meet business requirements.
• Create and support automated data extracts and interface processes.
• Create extract files, reports, and analytics dashboards.
• Modify existing processes to meet business requirements.
• Design, develop, and test solutions that meet complex business requirements.
• Work with business users to understand requirements.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders at all levels of the organization, external agencies, CMS, VITA, and vendors.
• Manage multiple assignments concurrently and meet important target dates.

Requirements

• 5 Years Experience with SAS Enterprise Guide, visual analytics for data analysis and reporting.
• 5 Years Experience with data architecture, data integration, data visualization, reporting, and process automation.
• 5 Years Experience with SAS (programming), R, PL/SQL.
• 5 Years Experience with Oracle, DB2, MS SQL Server.
• 5 Years Experience with ETL Tools, business analytics tools.
• 5 Years Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and test solutions for complex situations that meet user and agency requirements.
• 5 Years Development experience using Software Development Lifecycle methodologies.
• 5 Years Experience communicating verbally and in writing with technical colleagues and business users.
• 5 Years Experience providing accurate estimates of effort and duration to complete assignments.
• 5 Years Experience creating documentation to include technical design, flow diagrams, test results and user documentation.
• 2 Years Experience with creating CI/CD pipelines and software build automation in one or more platforms (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline).
• 1 Year Experience with SAS Scheduler.
