About the position

The SAS Programmer will join a Biostatistical Consulting Unit to provide programming and biostatistical support for research studies across various medical fields. This role involves supporting retrospective research studies from the development of research questions and study design to data analysis and the creation of publications.

Responsibilities

  • Support internally-funded retrospective research studies.
  • Develop research questions and study designs.
  • Prepare Institutional Review Board (IRB) proposals and obtain approvals.
  • Create analytic databases and perform data analysis.
  • Interpret results and develop abstracts, presentations, and publications.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • SAS Base Programming Specialist certification required.
  • Proficiency in SQL required; SAS Advanced Programming Professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with study design and statistical methods.
  • Minimum 1 year of medical or health analytics experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of statistical modeling experience using SAS, R, or other advanced statistical packages.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with SQL.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Excel.
  • Minimum 1 year of statistical consulting experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience writing methods sections and conducting power analyses for grant proposals.
  • Publications experience as an author in medical or scientific journals.
  • Experience with KP data systems.
