About the position

We are seeking experienced SAS programmer analysts to join a Biostatistical Consulting Unit to provide programming and biostatistical support to research studies in all fields of medicine led by clinicians. The programmer will support internally-funded retrospective research studies, from the development of research questions and study design to data analysis and the development of abstracts, presentations, and publications.

Responsibilities

• Support internally-funded retrospective research studies.
• Develop research questions and study design and methods.
• Assist in Institutional Review Board (IRB) proposal development and approval.
• Develop analytic databases and perform data analysis.
• Interpret results and develop abstracts, presentations, and publications.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health or similar.
• 3 years of related experience in SAS programming and biostatistics.
• SAS Base Programming Specialist certification required.
• Proficiency in SQL required.
• Minimum 2 years experience with study design and statistical methods.
• Minimum 1 year medical or health analytics experience.
• Minimum 2 years statistical modeling experience using SAS, R or other advanced statistical package.
• Minimum 2 years experience working with SQL.
• Minimum 2 years experience with Excel.
• Minimum 1 year statistical consulting experience.

Nice-to-haves

• SAS Advanced Programming Professional certification preferred.
• Experience writing methods sections and conducting power analyses for grant proposals preferred.
• Publications experience as an author in medical or scientific journals preferred.
• Experience with KP data systems preferred.
