About the position

The SAT/ACT Math Tutor position at Sylvan Learning Center is a part-time role focused on providing personalized instruction to students preparing for the math sections of the SAT and ACT exams. Tutors will develop customized lesson plans and help students build foundational math skills while fostering a love for learning in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction in all math topics covered on the SAT and ACT, including algebra, problem solving and data analysis, and advanced math.
• Develop customized lesson plans based on students' strengths and areas for improvement.
• Help students build strong foundational math skills, understand complex concepts, and apply problem-solving strategies.
• Communicate regularly with students and parents about progress and strategies for improvement.
• Stay updated on the latest test formats, question types, and strategies.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of SAT/ACT math content and test-taking strategies.
• Previous experience tutoring math for standardized tests is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping students succeed.
