About the position

Stellar Solutions is seeking a Satellite Assembly Integration and Test (AI&T) Engineer to support the development of innovative space vehicles and missions. This role involves overseeing contractor integration and test activities, resolving technical issues, and advising government program management on integration across various interfaces. The ideal candidate will be a leader and problem solver, capable of delivering results in a fast-paced environment while effectively communicating complex information to management and executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as program advisory lead for planning and negotiating transition requirements for SpRCO programs to SpOC.
  • Rapidly develop and field new, highly classified space capabilities for operations, establishing operational and tactical applications.
  • Support management and execution across the entire portfolio of programs, ensuring proper coordination and application of lessons learned.
  • Provide detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements and optimization of development and maintenance efforts.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to verify and track program needs, producing and tracking necessary agreements and documentation.
  • Coordinate with external agencies, including operational units and other acquisition activities, to support and advise acquisition and program management functions.
  • Assist in acquisition planning and technical requirements development.
  • Help assess the technical sufficiency, cost, quality, and timely delivery of program deliverables.
  • Draft, review, and edit final program reports, documents, and briefings.
  • Initiate, supervise, and develop requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex programs.
  • Aid in the development of a Monthly Status Report on all support efforts, including updates on status and performance.
  • Translate results into actionable recommendations or differentiated courses of action.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing.
  • Provide strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program and project staff.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years of DoD/IC or relevant industry hands-on work experience on commercial and/or government satellite systems.
  • Understanding of the space operational environment and corresponding mission user needs.
  • Experience performing spacecraft system engineering, development, manufacturing, integration, and testing.
  • Experience developing satellite test and requirements verification plans.
  • Experience working with satellite structural, mechanical, thermal, dynamics, propulsion, and mass properties.
  • Experience analyzing and developing contract data requirements lists and deliverables.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fifteen (15) years of DoD/IC or relevant industry hands-on work experience on commercial and/or government satellite systems.
  • Experience leading satellite assembly, integration, and testing for large space systems.
  • Previous experience as Chief Engineer for a large national security space program.
  • Experience with rapid build and qualification testing at both system and component levels.
  • Experience with integrated air, space, and cyberspace capabilities.
  • Experience as a SETA in a government program office.
  • Experience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programs.
