About the position

As a Satellite Electrical Engineer at Parsons, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing electrical systems and components specifically for satellite applications. In addition to design and development, you will develop and execute test plans to ensure the functionality and reliability of satellite electrical systems. Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to electrical systems and components will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also document design processes, test results, and system performance to maintain a clear record of your work. Staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in satellite and electrical engineering is essential, as is providing technical support and guidance to other team members and departments. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems and components for satellite applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to define system requirements and specifications.
  • Perform simulations and analyses to validate the performance and reliability of electrical systems.
  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure the functionality and reliability of satellite electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical systems and components.
  • Document design processes, test results, and system performance.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in satellite and electrical engineering.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the satellite or aerospace industry.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Proficiency in electrical design tools and software (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, MATLAB, SPICE).
  • Strong understanding of satellite systems, including power distribution, communication, and control systems.
  • Experience with testing and validation of electrical systems and components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with space-grade components and radiation-hardened design.
  • Knowledge of satellite communication protocols and standards.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
