About the position

The Satellite Mission Management Systems Engineer role focuses on developing and managing satellite architectures for national security space programs. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking to create customer-focused engineering solutions. The engineer will collaborate with various stakeholders to define system architectures, conduct trade studies, and address potential risks, ultimately contributing to the success of mission management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the definition of end-to-end solutions for satellite architectures.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Define and model candidate system architectures.
  • Conduct trade studies to identify gaps and risks in mission management systems.
  • Engage with clients and industry partners to inform about future space architectures.
  • Contribute to the delivery of existing programs and shape future mission management opportunities.

Requirements

  • Experience working within an Agile software development construct.
  • Experience with mission systems and interfacing with mission management planners and operators.
  • Experience with manual software testing.
  • Knowledge of large DoD or IC satellite ground systems, including OPIR.
  • Knowledge of mission needs and conveying capabilities of software platforms.
  • Top Secret clearance.
  • HS diploma or GED.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of experience with national security satellite systems for SIGINT or GEOINT.
  • 1+ years of experience with the development of proliferated satellite architectures.
  • Experience with satellite mission management systems.
  • Experience developing solutions in classified Cloud environments.
  • Experience developing and executing automated software testing scripts.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience with Linux and Cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevSecOps software development.
  • Knowledge of automation techniques, or artificial intelligence and machine learning.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
