About the position

By Light is seeking a Satellite Network Engineer Level II to join our team in Tampa, Florida. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the configuration, training, testing, operation, and maintenance of SATCOM networks and systems. This role involves working with various satellite communication technologies, including TDMA, MF-TDMA, and FDMA, and requires documented experience in SATCOM architecture. The engineer will be responsible for deploying tactical and strategic systems and subsystems, ensuring that all operations meet the necessary standards and regulations. The Satellite Network Engineer will develop methodologies and implementation strategies aimed at optimizing the performance, security, reliability, and availability of JCSE's SATCOM systems. This includes providing engineering support for the implementation of a multiple hub, terrestrially connected global network. The engineer will also support engineering efforts related to planning, performance management, maintenance, enhancements, upgrades, and integration of other SATCOM hardware and software systems and subsystems. Familiarity with RMF and its rules and regulations is essential for this position, as is the ability to analyze various SATCOM technologies such as iDirect, ViaSat, L3, Tampa Microwave, Windmill, DRS SCOSS-J, and GD VSAT.

Responsibilities

  • Develop methodology and implementation strategies for optimizing the performance, security, reliability, and availability of JCSE's SATCOM systems.
  • Provide engineering support for the implementation of a multiple hub, terrestrially connected global network.
  • Support engineering efforts of planning and performance management, maintenance, enhancements, upgrades, and integration support of other SATCOM hardware and software systems and subsystems.

Requirements

  • IAT Level II certification required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
  • Certified iGT Installer/Operator/Maintainer.
  • CCNA Switching and Routing.
