About the position

Savers is on the lookout for a seasoned Microsoft Dynamics 365 Principal Software Engineer to join the team, who provides strong technical leadership and delivers value by working with a Development Team in designing and implementing development projects as prioritized by the business. The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of hands-on retail expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and proven ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating upgrades, designing technical solutions, and ensuring the seamless implementation and maintenance of our D365 Commerce system to align with our business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of technical solutions within Microsoft D365 Commerce.
  • Oversee the configuration and customization of D365 Commerce applications to meet specific business needs.
  • Design and execute data integrations between D365 Commerce and other systems using tools like PowerShell, Power Apps, and Azure Logic Apps.
  • Manage data migration activities, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the transition process.
  • Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshoot issues related to D365 Commerce solutions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including solution design documents, development standards, and best practices.
  • Work closely with functional consultants, business analysts, and other technical team members to deliver effective and high-quality solutions.
  • Stay abreast of the latest updates to Microsoft D365 Commerce and assist with system upgrades and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct training sessions for end-users and facilitate knowledge transfer to business teams.

Requirements

  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar version control systems.
  • Proficient in programming languages and technologies such as X++, C#, PowerShell, and SQL.
  • Experience with Azure services.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices and solution architecture.
  • Familiarity with agile project methodologies.
  • Strong UX design skills.
  • Exceptional written/oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in reading, interpreting, and writing technical documents.
  • Docker & Kubernetes experience desired.
  • Experience in retail environment strongly preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Microsoft certifications in Dynamics 365 Commerce are highly desirable.
