About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) is responsible for overseeing and directing the management, operations, and policy development for three key divisions: Rental Assistance and Homeless Solutions (RAHS), Audit, Compliance and Fraud Investigation (ACFI), and Operations. The COO will coordinate the Authority's homeless initiatives and strategic plans, maintain effective relationships with various agencies, and guide process improvements to enhance service delivery across divisions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct ongoing management and operations for RAHS, ACFI, and Operations divisions.
  • Coordinate the Authority's homeless initiatives and strategic plan for ending homelessness.
  • Maintain and develop effective working relationships with federal, state, and local officials, as well as professional organizations.
  • Guide new process improvement efforts to enhance policies in RAHS, ACFI, and Operations.
  • Ensure better customer response timelines for delivering products and services.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Two years of professional managerial experience.
  • Alternate education and experience may substitute for the education and experience requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with MSHDA's voucher programs.
  • Experience in the field of housing.
