About the position

The SBA Portfolio Analyst at Bank of Hope is responsible for providing support in the servicing of loans, including processing transactions, preparing credit memos, and analyzing financial statements. This entry-level position involves monitoring loan covenants, maintaining reports, and assisting senior officers while ensuring compliance with established policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Answer mainline calls and process transactional servicing actions.
• Prepare credit memos that are simple or of minor complexity for approval.
• Analyze financial statements or tax returns to generate relevant ratios including DCRs under supervision.
• Monitor loan covenants and conditions per loan agreement, collect documents, and follow up on delinquent accounts.
• Maintain various monitoring and loan status reports.
• Order various third-party provided services.
• Provide assistance to senior officers.
• Attend trainings and meetings as assigned.
• Comply with Bank and U.S. SBA's established loan policies and procedures.
• Comply with regulatory requirements including Bank Secrecy Act-Anti Money Laundering, OFAC, US Patriot Act, Privacy Act, and Community Reinvestment Act.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum Education Level: College Degree preferably in Accounting or Finance.
• Some experience in customer service functions is a plus, but not required.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
• Ability to follow various work instructions with a positive attitude.

Nice-to-haves

• Basic knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal) and conversational in Korean (written and verbal).

• Salary range of $23/hr - $25/hr + bonus + benefits.
