About the position

The Convenience Store General Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining an exceptional store experience for guests while overseeing the daily operations of a retail location. This role involves managing staff, ensuring profitability, maintaining store standards, and addressing customer needs to foster long-term relationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff management including interviewing, selection, and training of all retail staff.
• Organize and oversee staff schedules and work assignments.
• Confirm daily sales reports and cash receipts, ensuring regular deposits and compliance with company policies.
• Improve store standards in housekeeping, merchandising, presentation, and service.
• Conduct regular communication meetings with staff to ensure plans are executed effectively.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues to ensure positive relationships.
• Perform spot inventory counts and checks to ensure accurate inventory data.
• Collaborate with regional managers on cost-effective advertising and hiring strategies.
• Maintain a clean and inviting store environment.
• Achieve Gross Profit Margin, Net Margin, and Sales Targets as agreed with District Managers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate staff.
• Experience working to targets, KPIs, and measurements.
• Understanding of P&L and financials.
• Excellent customer service abilities and a positive attitude.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Customer service experience required.
• Retail management experience highly preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Teams, Excel, and Outlook.
• Frequent standing for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds at times.
