About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Schwan Cosmetics USA, Inc. is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the purchasing team to ensure effective procurement processes that enhance the organization's performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability. This role involves overseeing vendor agreements, sourcing new suppliers, and developing supplier relationships while leading a team to meet organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and technical knowledge to review, monitor, revise and approve vendor/supplier agreements/contracts to provide cost savings/avoidance.
• Source new suppliers, negotiate terms, lead time, price and transportation.
• Purchase key materials both domestically and internationally.
• Develop & maintain supplier relationships.
• Direct, monitor & supervise the purchasing department.
• Incorporate cross functional team participation to proactively anticipate client needs, solve problems and build teams.
• Motivate and inspire the purchasing team and other employees.
• Provide learning and development opportunities to promote growth and build expertise.
• Set expectations and provide feedback to effectively evaluate performance.
• Utilize financial data to improve overall financial performance and profitability by effectively managing and controlling inventory and implementing appropriate supply chain strategies.
• Formulate and implement supply chain processes and procedures to support organizational results and achieve organizational goals.
• Monitor results and implement best practices as applicable.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or logistics preferred.
• 5+ years of manufacturing/purchasing/supply chain experience required.
• APICS certification preferred.
• Strong business acumen and vision.
