About the position

The SCADA Engineer will be responsible for developing, deploying, and supporting SCADA systems and automation control systems in a collaborative environment. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects while working closely with field staff and development teams. The engineer will also participate in a rotational on-call schedule and travel to remote sites for training and support.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, implement, deploy, and support SCADA systems like Wonder Ware and Ignition.
  • Collaborate with engineers, data managers, and software developers to deliver solutions to upstream unconventional business problems.
  • Support the day-to-day maintenance and development of SCADA systems utilizing corporate-driven standard solutions.
  • Work with production and facilities teams to integrate well site data and field automation into SCADA systems for alarm historizing/trending and display.
  • Interface with various customer and support elements including automation, measurement, engineering, production, operations, and IT support staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing, deploying, and supporting SCADA systems and automation control systems.
  • Proficiency in one or more SCADA platforms such as Wonder Ware, Ignition, Auto Sol (ACM), XSPOC.
  • Proficiency in one or more Firewall platforms such as Cisco ASA, Cisco FTD, Palo Alto, Eagle One.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal/customer service skills and ability to communicate well with others.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • IT knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems and applications such as MS SQL 2012.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of building, deploying, and supporting Ignition screens using Python.
  • Prior work experience in the upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Experience working on teams following Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience participating in the user-centered design process.
  • Working knowledge of Auto Sol (ACM), ACP Thin Manager, Win911, and Ignition.
  • Experience working with RTUs (ROC, TotalFlow), PLC's, and related HMI hardware and software.
  • 3 years of experience working with WonderWare's software suite (IAS, InTouch, InSQL).
  • Understanding of field radio and network communications.
