About the position

The SCADA Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure for SCADA systems. This role ensures the secure and efficient operation of SCADA networks that support the monitoring and control of industrial processes. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize network performance and implement new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and configure network infrastructure for SCADA systems, including switches, routers, firewalls, and other networking equipment.
  • Implement network architecture that ensures high availability, redundancy, and security.
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of network hardware and software.
  • Conduct system testing and validation to ensure proper network functionality.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on SCADA network infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Monitor network performance and implement improvements as needed.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and operation procedures.
  • Generate and analyze network performance reports and data logs.
  • Implement and manage network security measures to protect SCADA systems from cyber threats.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to network security and data protection.
  • Work closely with SCADA engineers, IT staff, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and operation of network systems.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users and staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer, preferably in a SCADA or industrial automation environment.
  • Hands-on experience with configuring and managing networking equipment (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, etc.).
  • Experience with SCADA systems and industrial network protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, DNP3).
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, and security.
  • Proficiency in network management tools and software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)) are a plus.
