About the position

The position involves monitoring SCADA equipment to ensure the safe operation of CO2 and Crude Oil pipelines, pump stations, valves, and processing plants. The role requires adherence to DOT, OSHA, and Kinder Morgan regulations, focusing on effective communication, emergency response, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Kinder Morgan's SCADA systems for monitoring and control of pipeline systems.
• Respond to and assess abnormal conditions on the pipelines.
• Communicate critical information to Field Operations personnel and Management.
• Monitor pipeline pressures, flow rates, and other SCADA information for leak detection.
• Coordinate the fulfillment of confirmed nominations with Field Operations and third-party operators.
• Ensure accuracy of pump schedules, batch sizes, and confirmed nominations.
• Manage pumping schedules with an emphasis on efficiency and power optimization.
• Monitor incoming/outgoing volumes and product quality.
• Monitor facilities for power and/or communications failure.
• Ensure smooth transition of shift turnovers through effective communication.
• Evaluate current processes for ongoing improvement.
• Perform other pipeline-related duties as assigned.
• Maintain a high regard for personal safety and the safety of company assets and employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, use of fractions).
• Valid driver license and satisfactory driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Five years direct work experience in pipeline operations and control.
• Working knowledge of CO2 and crude oil terms and principles.
• Proficiency with SCADA programs.
• Mechanical familiarity with pumps and compressors.
• Experience in a 24x7x365 work environment.
• Associate level degree in any discipline.
