DuPont has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Scale Up Engineer in the Electronics & Imaging, Semiconductor Technologies, Lithography Technologies, Development Engineering group located in Marlborough, MA. The successful candidate will be responsible for the product scale up to support microlithographic product development, product manufacturing, and process improvement. The candidate will conduct independent research, maximizing the use of the scientific and professional literature, and to document their research in technical reports. Also, will collaborate seamlessly with Global R D and Engineering organization, suppliers, quality team and manufacturing team to identify and implement improvements, as well as with analytical scientists to conduct in-depth testing of materials and to communicate learnings across organizations.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering or related fields.
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience with new improvements.
  • 0-5 years of formulation processing experience or polymer/chemical experience is preferred.
  • A team player.
  • Must work well in multi-disciplinary, cross-geographic team.
  • Able to develop and implement project plan.
  • Knowledge & experience in statistics, SPC and statistical design of experiments is preferred.
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed.
  • Eager to learn new skills on fast time scales.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Experience with SAP, JMP and Six Sigma is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with scale up team to produce experimental batches of advanced litho formulations.
  • Collaborate with Analytical or FAB Scientists to evaluate testing of advanced litho product samples.
  • Design and analyze shelf-life studies.
  • Evaluate the capability of modified products and processes to meet specifications and control limits.
  • Coordinate requests for customer samples.
  • Modify existing product templates and batch sheet, so that manufacturing can set-up batches.
  • Submit for SAP part numbers for products, new dilutions of existing products and spin-off products.
  • Share learnings across organizations.
  • Develop an understanding of the lithographic process.
  • Define, direct, or perform lab and engineering scale process investigations.
  • Interface between R D, manufacturing, external contract facilities and customers as development engineering focal point.
  • Document critical results and findings in appropriate format.
