About the position

The Scan Coordinator (File Maintenance Clerk) plays a crucial role in ensuring pricing integrity within the retail store. This position serves as a primary contact for customers, providing friendly and helpful service while managing the accuracy of price tags and compliance with pricing standards. The Scan Coordinator is responsible for auditing prices, correcting discrepancies, and assisting with price changes, all while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service as defined by the employer within the scope of the position and company policy.
• Print signs for displays using computer.
• Print scale sheets for meat, seafood, deli, and bakery.
• Tear and sort label batches.
• Place tags/signs on shelves and audit bulletins for pricing errors.
• Audit sections and secondary displays on a weekly basis.
• Use handheld computers to check prices posted on shelves for accuracy and consistency with store computer.
• Monitor inter-office mail and company web page daily for updated information.
• Communicate with vendors on out-of-stock conditions.
• Review the new item placement report, print tags, and place per schematic.
• Responsible for monthly reset duties as defined by company policy.
• Adhere to Federal, State, and local laws, as well as Safeway policies and store rules.

Requirements

• Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
• Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience.
• Ability to communicate with store management, corporate pricing, vendors, customers, and coworkers.
• Proficiency with computer-based programs.
• Ability to solve problems, make quality decisions, and work independently.
• Ability to work varied shifts over a 24-hour operation.
