About the position
The SCCM Admin position involves managing and troubleshooting System Center Configuration Management (SCCM) systems to ensure effective software delivery and endpoint security. The role requires a senior-level resource with extensive experience in SCCM administration, network equipment, and IT policies, aimed at maintaining system reliability and providing training to staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform System Center Configuration Management (SCCM) administration troubleshooting.
- Support endpoint vulnerability through security-related applications (e.g., anti-virus, vulnerability scanning, patch management).
- Administer SCCM software delivery using various methods (e.g., runs advertised programs, machine/user targeted).
- Evaluate effectiveness and risks of Information Technology Services (ITS) processes.
- Evaluate current IT policies, procedures, and practices and recommend changes.
- Administer SCCM back-end to maintain system reliability (e.g., changes core components/settings, backup/restore, software delivery, clients, boundaries, bandwidth settings).
- Troubleshoot failed SCCM deployments and stability issues; administer testing deployments and troubleshoot failed updates.
- Provide training to existing staff on the use of SCCM.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience with SCCM administration and troubleshooting.
- 4-year college degree or equivalent technical study.
- Experience in a customer support and personal service role.
- Experience with technical writing and documentation practices.
- Capabilities in physical application of network equipment (e.g., hubs, routers, switches, bridges, servers) and related hardware.
- Thorough understanding and applied experience with local area and wide area networking principles and concepts.
- Experience with backup recovery techniques and performance monitoring methods.
- Basic internet server maintenance techniques and installation configuration procedures.
- Ability to prepare meaningful, accurate, and concise reports.
