About the position

The Scheduler / Front Office role at Indiana Spine Group is essential for maximizing the efficiency of the physician's schedule by managing patient appointments and procedures. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and referring physicians, emphasizing customer service and effective communication. The role also involves maintaining patient information and assisting in various administrative tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to inquiries from patients and referring physicians.
  • Schedule patient procedures using office management software and coordinate with the physician's schedule.
  • Maintain each physician's schedule according to scheduling protocols.
  • Coordinate changes in patient office visits or procedure dates and notify affected staff.
  • Schedule depositions, meetings, and personal appointments for physicians, including travel arrangements.
  • Accept new patient referrals and contact patients or referring physician staff as necessary.
  • Treat all patients and staff with respect and maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
  • Call patients to schedule procedures after confirmation from the billing department.

Requirements

  • Graduation from High School or GED equivalent.
  • One year of previous experience in a physician office.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
