About the position
The Scheduler/Planner at UNISIG is responsible for coordinating critical functions within the machine shop to enhance manufacturing efficiency. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure timely availability of components for assembly, streamlining the build process, and making tactical decisions related to production plans and material timing.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the master schedule to collaborate with departments for plan completion that meets customer needs and internal goals.
- Monitor bottlenecks in schedules and work with appropriate departments to resolve them.
- Review routings to determine the proper flow of materials and assist in balancing work between work centers.
- Set priorities for outside services and expedite as necessary.
- Create jobs for fulfilling system demands on the shop floor.
- Assist in correcting ERP information to maintain proper labor hours, routing, and costing information.
- Analyze production data to make informed scheduling adjustments.
- Become proficient in the Syteline system.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in business administration, supply chain, or a relevant discipline.
- Experience in production planning, scheduling, or analysis within a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Excellent work ethic and ability to work self-directed and self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Organizational skills and a respectful attitude in a team environment.
