The Scheduler Pre-Registrar at CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region is responsible for scheduling outpatient tests for patients, ensuring accurate pre-registration, and maintaining the integrity of patient information. This role involves managing phone calls and fax requests, checking insurance eligibility, and educating patients about their appointments. Responsibilities

• Receive phone calls and fax requests to schedule patients for outpatient tests.
• Complete pre-registration of scheduled patients and ensure a valid provider order is obtained.
• Maintain the scheduling system to ensure it is up-to-date with no conflicting appointments.
• Achieve a pre-registration accuracy rate within departmental guidelines.
• Demonstrate the importance of quality and integrity of captured patient information regarding confidentiality.
• Possess a working knowledge of medical insurances and patient financial responsibilities, including checking insurance eligibility.
• Educate patients prior to arrival on directions to the hospital, registration process, and required documentation.
• Accurately schedule patient exams in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

• 1 year previous Patient Scheduling or Patient Access experience preferred.
• Office experience in a healthcare environment, including knowledge of medical terminology and CPT/ICD-9 codes preferred.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
