About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with specialized coursework in business administration, shipyard trade, or related fields.
  • Three or more years of experience in a shipyard planning/production control position or shipyard trade desired.
  • Planning/scheduling software experience required; Surtrak/Primavera software experience desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Express.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings/sketches, technical data, specifications, detail schedules, and labor hour reports.
  • Ability to formulate spreadsheets and workbooks.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other employees including ESG Management.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project/production detail schedules and resource planning documents.
  • Monitor job progress and update status in Planning/Production Control systems.
  • Review and interpret technical data, specifications, drawings, estimates, and labor hour reports.
  • Translate information into work items under the ESG work breakdown structure.
  • Interface with Project Manager, Purchasing, Estimating, and various crafts to ensure adequate planning/scheduling.
  • Monitor job progress and update status in Sure Trak/Primavera projects assigned.
  • Monitor the status of major materials/equipment and update in Suretrak/Primavera projects assigned.
  • Analyze schedule information providing progress and possible impacts to the Planning/Production Control Manager.
  • Take progress photos and annotate photo files.
  • Work with payroll on time charge and job cost issues along with work order availability and discrepancies.
  • Assist Project managers/craft superintendents with production control/job cost matters.
  • Assist the Planning/Production Control Manager with various research projects and/or special projects.
