About the position

The Scheduling Area Leader is responsible for managing workflow, product scheduling, and processes across multiple work centers. This role focuses on improving productivity, staffing projections, and inventory control while ensuring quality and efficiency in operations. The position requires collaboration with various departments and effective communication to meet customer requirements and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Research and justify ways to improve productivity.
  • Prioritize work and shift setup, including scheduling overtime and vacations.
  • Assist in daily staffing and manning projections.
  • Review quality and rework issues.
  • Assist with budget and stand-up meeting presentations.
  • Manage workflows in and out of the department and provide feedback to supervisors.
  • Notify departments of tech card and router changes and identify Key Control Characteristics.
  • Control inventory by updating systems and providing daily status reports.
  • Coordinate long and short-term customer requirements with planning.
  • Assist with strategies to forecast and attain ESH requirements.
  • Coordinate and control manufacturing supply inventories.
  • Interface with customers, engineering, and other departments for process walks and presentations.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Work required overtime as needed.
  • Perform any other job duties as requested by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Experience in scheduling and workflow management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to research and implement productivity improvements.
  • Strong organizational skills for prioritizing tasks and managing schedules.
  • Experience with inventory control and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Experience in making presentations to various stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in welding, inspection, or grinding processes.
  • Experience with automated equipment and Fanuc controls.
  • Ability to adjust shift schedules based on team and production needs.
