Responsibilities

  • Perform duties required to schedule and pre-register patients for procedures and surgical cases/services.
  • Print schedules for departments as needed.
  • Gather and report statistical data as requested.
  • Display excellent customer service skills while interacting with customers via phone, e-mail, correspondence, or in person.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of insurance processing requirements, including verification, authorization, terms, requirements, and regulations.
  • Have an advanced understanding of medical terminology.
  • Correctly pre-register scheduled patients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Previous experience in a customer service setting, preferably in a medical-related field.
  • Medical Terminology (Advanced) certificate required or demonstrates successful completion of an accredited course.
  • Phone etiquette; familiar with ancillary departments scheduling requirements.
