About the position
Pariser Dermatology Specialists is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator for their Mohs surgery department. This role is essential for managing patient appointments and procedures, ensuring effective communication with patients and medical staff, and maintaining accurate scheduling records. The ideal candidate will have experience with electronic medical record systems and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Scheduling appointments and procedures for patients using a computerized scheduling system.
- Answering all questions regarding appointments and procedures.
- Accountable for accurately and completely obtaining required information in the scheduling process.
- Ensuring the correct patient and procedure requested has been scheduled.
- Managing patient referrals.
- Interacting extensively with physician/medical staff, office staff, and patients via phone, fax, and email to assure accurate and effective scheduling of appointments.
- Independently and accurately handling a wide range of scheduling duties in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Experience using an electronic medical record scheduling system.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 1 year of scheduling experience is preferred.
- Experience in surgery or dermatology scheduling is preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- EMR software utilization experience is preferred.
- Computer skills: Microsoft, Allscripts EMR is a plus.
