You must be reliable (punctual, accountable, responsive) and have a strong work ethic. Strong communication and organizational skills are also a must. You must be able to adapt to sudden changes and provide quick guidance to last-minute adjustments. On a typical day, you can be expected to: Communicate professionally with client representatives for job assignments using phone and email etiquette. Document client conversations and prepare work orders. Coordinate job assignments in relation to operator locations to maximize production and minimize travel time and fuel usage, utilizing online dispatching software. Coordinate and manage the schedule of all field staff. Record and manage field employee's Paid Time Off (PTO). Maintain a strong team spirit among the field technicians. Maintain close communication with the Operations Manager and Field Crew Supervisors, responding to field issues as they arise. Coordinate with the estimator to set up job information. Obtain and organize purchase orders for clients requiring them before scheduling. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures. Handle additional duties as needed, including last-minute schedule changes and updating dispatch records. Required Qualifications: One to three years of related dispatching experience within road construction. Valid Driver's License. Familiarity with dispatch or scheduling software is preferred. A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. Prior road construction experience is required.
