About the position
The After-School Program Assistant Team Leader at Pathways for Children, Inc. is responsible for nurturing and supporting children aged 5-12 in a safe and engaging environment. This role involves participating in daily activities, supervising children during play and meal times, and implementing developmentally appropriate educational programs. The position emphasizes collaboration and open communication among team members, aiming to provide a respectful and supportive atmosphere for both children and staff.
Responsibilities
- Work within a classroom setting with children ages 5-13 and support the students during activities, field trips, outdoor and indoor play, and meal times.
- Implement a daily program of developmentally appropriate recreational and educational activities which meet the individual needs of the children enrolled in the program and support their success.
- Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
- Work as part of a team, supporting one another and communicating effectively.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age and enrolled in high school or equivalent program.
- Experience with school-aged care youth preferred.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the role.
- Must comply with all state and federal requirements.
- Must complete and satisfy background check protocols.
