About the position

The School Age Child Care Site Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading enrichment programs for children attending before and after school programs. This role supports the mission of the YMCA by ensuring the well-being of all participants and providing leadership to staff, while adhering to YMCA guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, organize, and lead daily program activities for children.
  • Provide leadership to staff and ensure adequate coverage for all activities.
  • Maintain a physical presence and remain alert while on duty.
  • Know and review all emergency procedures and respond to emergencies as required.
  • Maintain records related to the program and follow all YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Work additional hours during scheduled half days of school and during vacation camps as needed.
  • Perform equipment checks and ensure appropriate equipment is available and stored properly.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in child development, elementary education, PE, or related field.
  • Two years of direct experience working with children under the age of 13, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
  • New York State Children's Program Administrator Credential or School Age Child Care Credential is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
