About the position

The School Age Teacher position involves working under the supervision of the Academy Director to provide educational experiences for children. The teacher is responsible for planning, supervising, and implementing programs in accordance with the curriculum. The role requires maintaining a safe and positive learning environment while adhering to the Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers and NAC accreditation standards. The position is expected to engage students using various instructional strategies and to maintain professionalism and commitment to ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates an understanding of the curriculum and the developmental needs of the children by providing relevant learning experiences.
• Plans, supervises, and implements the programs for the class in accordance with the Academy Director and curriculum coordinator.
• Effectively engages students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs.
• Uses resources, routines, and procedures to provide a respectful, positive, safe, student-centered environment conducive to learning.
• Maintains a commitment to professional ethics, communicates effectively, and participates in professional growth.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED certificate required.
• Early education BA, AA or CDA highly preferred.
• Previous experience in a state licensed facility OR 24 hours of documented pre-service training required.
• Must meet all teacher qualifications as stated in the Minimum Standards for child care centers in Texas.
• Maintaining First-Aide and CPR certification during employment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in children’s ministry is a plus.

Benefits

• $15.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience and education.
