School Age Teacher(Summer Only) - Lionheart at Stone Myers

About the position

The School Age Teacher position involves working under the supervision of the Academy Director to provide educational experiences for children. The teacher is responsible for planning, supervising, and implementing programs in accordance with the curriculum and the Academy's standards. The role requires a commitment to professional ethics and a focus on creating a positive learning environment. The position is expected to be filled as soon as possible, with hours ranging from 30 to 40 hours per week, primarily Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates an understanding of the curriculum and the developmental needs of the children by providing relevant learning experiences.
• Plans, supervises, and implements the programs for the class in accordance with the Academy Director and curriculum coordinator.
• Engages students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs.
• Uses resources, routines, and procedures to provide a respectful, positive, safe, student-centered environment.
• Maintains a commitment to professional ethics and participates in professional growth.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED certificate required.
• Early education BA, AA or CDA highly preferred.
• Previous experience in a state licensed facility OR 24 hours of documented pre-service training required.
• Must meet all teacher qualifications as stated in the Minimum Standards for child care centers in Texas.
• Maintaining First-Aide and CPR certification during employment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in children’s ministry is a plus.

Benefits

• $15.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience and education.
