About the position
The School Age Youth Program Coordinator at Valley Opportunity Council is responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate afterschool activities for school-aged youth. This role focuses on working with at-risk youth to develop life skills, fostering an atmosphere that nurtures independence and self-esteem, and overseeing part-time staff and volunteers. The coordinator will also engage in outreach and recruitment of program participants.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate afterschool activities.
- Work with at-risk youth to develop life skills.
- Create an atmosphere that nurtures independence and self-esteem.
- Outreach and recruitment of program participants.
- Supervise part-time youth program staff and volunteers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to relate to diverse community groups.
- Valid driver's license and transportation.
