About the position

The Certified Athletic Trainer at Loveland Schools will be responsible for evaluating and treating injuries of student athletes during sporting events. This role involves close collaboration with the Team Physician, coaches, and school personnel to ensure that athletes receive quality orthopedic care. The position is full-time and based at Loveland Middle/High Schools in Cincinnati, OH, and includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate injuries of student athletes during sporting events.
  • Work closely with the Team Physician and coaches to provide quality care.
  • Organize and administer the overall athletic training program for extracurricular athletics.
  • Thoroughly evaluate athletic injuries and determine appropriate treatment or referral.
  • Provide comprehensive preventative and rehabilitative care to injured athletes.
  • Maintain excellent communication with team physicians, athletes, coaches, and parents.
  • Establish and maintain injury records at the school.
  • Complete all documentation in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Manage the budget for the training room, including purchasing and inventory.
  • Coordinate continuing education requirements for coaching staff.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed in athletic training in the state of Ohio.
  • Maintain current NATABOC certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a secondary school setting preferred.
  • Ability to apply principles of quality physical therapy care.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sports medicine or related fields.
  • Knowledge of athletic training principles and practices.
