Epic Special Education Staffing is seeking a dedicated and passionate School Based Speech Therapist to join our team for the 2024 - 2025 school year. This position is based in Winchester, VA, and is designed for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of students with special needs. As a Speech Therapist, you will work closely with students across various grade levels, including Kindergarten, Elementary School, Middle School, and High School, providing essential speech and language services to help them succeed academically and socially. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing students' speech and language abilities, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions tailored to each student's unique needs. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment that fosters communication skills and enhances educational outcomes. Your expertise will be crucial in helping students overcome challenges related to speech and language disorders, enabling them to thrive in their educational journey. Responsibilities

  • Assess students' speech and language abilities through formal and informal evaluations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and student needs.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions to improve students' communication skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to support students' educational goals.
  • Monitor and document students' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Provide training and support to school staff on speech and language strategies.

Requirements

  • 1 year of verifiable, professional experience as a Special Education Teacher within the last 3 years (may include residency or clinical practicum).
  • Valid Special Education Teacher credential/license or in process in the state of practice.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
