About the position

The School Bus Aide plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children during their transportation to and from school. This position involves assisting children in crossing streets, loading and unloading them from school buses, and maintaining order on the bus to ensure a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists children across streets or highways.
• Loads and unloads children from school buses and other school vehicles.
• Maintains order on the school bus or other school vehicles.
• Secures the children with safety belts in their seats.
• Maintains proper seating discipline.
• Informs children about safety regulations and practices.

Requirements

• Must be at least 19 years old.
• Candidates must obtain clearance for employment from the State Education Department based on a fingerprint and criminal history background check.
