The School Bus Driver performs intermediate semiskilled human support work in the transportation of pupils to and from school and special events. The work is performed under the regular supervision of the director of transportation and appropriate principals. This position requires the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The job involves climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, and repetitive motions. Vocal communication is required for conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, and visual acuity is necessary for the operation of motor vehicles or equipment, as well as for observing general surroundings and activities. The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions, noise, vibration, and atmospheric conditions, and may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, requiring the use of specialized personal protective equipment.
