About the position

The School Environmental Services Manager is responsible for managing and supervising the environmental services staff at a single campus, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and federal/state requirements. This role involves providing leadership, support, and guidance to meet quality standards, safety guidelines, and customer service expectations. The Manager also coordinates project work, maintains records, and ensures the facility is adequately supplied with janitorial materials while embodying the company's values and purpose.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise environmental services staff at a single campus.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and federal/state requirements.
  • Provide leadership and support to meet quality standards and safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate and ensure timely completion of project and program work.
  • Maintain records of income, expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and in working order.
  • Conduct periodic inventories of supplies and materials.
  • Train new employees and recommend dismissals as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison between building occupants and HCSG staff.
  • Communicate effectively all directives from managers and building occupants to staff.
  • Perform job assignments of day porter, custodian, and floor technician as needed.
  • Conduct quality control assessments and document findings using QCIs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Two years' experience in Environmental Services in a school or healthcare environment and personnel supervision desired.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to understand and complete all In-Services.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures.
  • Ability to handle and mix chemicals safely and properly.
  • Ability to work all shifts as needed.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Services, laundry, and floor care program requirements.
  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required.
  • Written and oral communication and teaching skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in public relations techniques to promote Environmental Services programs.
  • Ability to interact positively with residents, clients, and other personnel.
