About the position

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a full-time Applied Quantitative Methodologist faculty member for the School of Nursing. This position involves teaching applied quantitative methods and statistics in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing programs, as well as providing methodological support for DNP projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in health sciences education and expertise in quantitative analysis or applied statistics.

Responsibilities

  • Teach applied quantitative methods and statistics courses in DNP and PhD programs.
  • Provide methodological support in the design and implementation of DNP projects.
  • Collaborate on the development of manuscripts and presentations.
  • Participate on DNP and PhD committees.
  • Mentor students and trainees.
  • Provide consultation in quantitative methods to faculty and trainees.
  • Support funded projects.
  • Participate in academic service activities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a doctoral degree.
  • At least 12 credit hours of graduate-level quantitative methods or statistics courses.
  • Background in applied quantitative analysis in nursing or health sciences, applied statistics, data science, epidemiology, quantitative psychology, public health, health administration, medical sociology, education, or related disciplines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching at the graduate level.
  • Familiarity with health equity, oncology, palliative care, HIV/AIDS, pediatrics, occupational health, and aging.
