About the position
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking outstanding candidates for multiple full-time tenure-track faculty positions in the Department of Biostatistics within the School of Public Health. The positions are open rank, allowing for appointments at the levels of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Faculty members will have the opportunity to develop independent research lines and collaborate with established investigators in a dynamic and rapidly evolving field. The department is recognized for its interdisciplinary projects and academic programs, offering graduate degrees in Biostatistics and related fields.
Responsibilities
- Develop an independent line of research in biostatistics or related fields.
- Collaborate and publish with co-investigators and multidisciplinary teams.
- Engage in service activities for the Department and School, including advising students' practicum experiences.
- Teach a minimum of one graduate-level course per year.
- Participate in thesis/dissertation committees.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in biostatistics, data science, statistics, psychometrics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research.
- Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Successful track record of publication and collaboration as part of a research team.
Nice-to-haves
- Research focus in design and analysis of clinical trials and/or longitudinal cohort studies.
- Experience with highly computational methods and complex modeling.
- Background in statistical genetics and omics research.
