About the position

The School Operations Specialist at Stride, Inc. plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of the national school operations placement team. This position is responsible for coordinating and monitoring various tasks related to team project goals, ensuring that the team delivers an exceptional customer experience. The specialist will work closely with the leadership team to refine operational strategies, identify opportunities for improving the student placement experience, and set measurable goals aimed at increasing student retention. This role demands a high level of communication, customer service, and leadership skills to effectively manage relationships with school leadership and internal teams. In this position, the specialist will develop and manage relationships with school leadership and Stride's retention and enrollment teams. They will create training materials and tutorials for school-based systems, ensuring compliance with state requirements. The specialist will oversee projects and programs, ensuring that milestones are met on time and that completion is achieved. A proactive approach is essential, as the specialist will need to identify opportunities for improvement, provide recommendations, and support the implementation of these improvements. Additionally, the role involves supervising a team of contractors, monitoring their reporting of time and services to maximize return on investment, and ensuring that reports and data requests are fulfilled promptly. The specialist will also be responsible for carrying out supervisory duties in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, which includes interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, and addressing complaints. This position is vital for supporting strategies that enhance team outputs, ultimately improving student onboarding and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with school leadership, Stride retention and enrollment teams.
  • Create training and tutorials for school-based systems.
  • Work with staff to ensure school compliance with state requirements.
  • Manage projects and programs to ensure milestones are achieved on time and completion is met.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, provide recommendations, and support implementation.
  • Support strategies to improve team outputs that will enhance student onboarding and retention.
  • Effectively supervise an assigned team of contractors.
  • Monitor contractor reporting of time and services to leverage ROI.
  • Ensure reports and data requests are provided within a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Great organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong technology skills.
  • Experience using search engines for research projects.
  • Experience using a student information system and/or other types of databases.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.) and web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel 5% of the time.
  • Ability to clear required background check.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field of study and five (5) years of school operations experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
