About the position

The School Psychologist Intern position at Albion Central School District is designed for individuals in the internship phase of their school psychology program. Under the supervision of a licensed school psychologist, the intern will provide psychological services to students, including evaluations, counseling, and consultations to support their social, emotional, and educational needs. This role emphasizes collaboration with various stakeholders and the development of individualized educational plans (IEPs).

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological services to schools under supervision.
  • Administer and interpret psychological assessments of students.
  • Prepare recommendations regarding evaluations and services for students.
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, specialists, and parents.
  • Counsel students and coordinate behavior management programs.
  • Provide psycho-educational assessments and participate in IEP meetings.
  • Interpret psycho-educational assessment results and develop student goals.
  • Facilitate IEP meetings as required.
  • Provide written reports analyzing and summarizing test results and observations.
  • Act as a liaison between public and private agencies and county programs.
  • Develop and provide training to staff and parents.
  • Maintain professional competencies and participate in professional organizations.

Requirements

  • Internship phase of school psychology program.
  • Experience working with students from various demographic groups.
  • Letter of Introduction.
  • Resume.
  • Fingerprint clearance through NYSED TEACH; Drug Testing; current TB test; current Physical (less than one year old) - all completed upon being hired.
