About the position
Fort Lee Public Schools is seeking to hire 2 Part time Security Officers. This position is responsible for providing security and protection to all students, staff, school property, and visitors to school buildings. The Security Officer will monitor all areas of the school, ensure that students and staff wear identification, and that visitors provide proper identification upon entering. The role also involves being a role model to students, working with school administration and local law enforcement during emergencies or investigations, and building positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Providing security and protection to all students, staff, school property, and visitors to school buildings.
- Monitoring all areas of the school to ensure safety and security.
- Ensuring students and staff wear identification and that visitors provide proper identification upon entering.
- Being a role model to students.
- Working with school administration and local law enforcement during emergencies or investigations.
- Building positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experienced Law Enforcement Officer retired in good standing.
- Five years of experience working with juveniles, preferred.
- Completed or willing to complete the School Resource Officer Program within a year of being hired.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
- Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician.
- Possess a valid NJ Motor Vehicle Driver's License.
