The School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position at Sunbelt Staffing offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting students with speech and language disorders. This role involves collaborating with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to implement treatment plans and provide direct therapy services in a school setting. The SLPA will play a crucial role in enhancing students' communication abilities and ensuring their academic success.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to implement individualized treatment plans and interventions for students with speech and language disorders.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in a school setting, following established protocols and goals.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies and techniques to enhance students' communication and language abilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to support students' academic success.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required paperwork.
  • Stay informed about the latest research, techniques, and trends in speech-language pathology to provide evidence-based services.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1+ years speech therapy experience required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or related field.
  • Active California SLPA licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, students, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to diverse student populations and changing environments.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate and organized records and documentation.
  • Must pass a background check and meet all other compliance requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience working as an SLPA in a school setting is preferred.
