About the position

Salter Transportation, Inc. is seeking dedicated individuals to assist in the safe transportation of students. This role involves working part-time, with split shifts that may vary based on assigned routes. The position offers a competitive hourly wage, with a planned increase in the near future, and includes comprehensive training to ensure all employees are well-prepared for their responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Safely assist students as needed, including helping them enter and exit the vehicle and securing them in car seats and booster seats.
• Monitor student behavior and provide appropriate guidance, feedback, and direction when necessary.
• Report unsafe and inappropriate student behavior to management and implement corrective steps as assigned.
• Communicate effectively and clearly in English with students, parents, teachers, and Van Pool staff.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills while using Van Pool's two-way radio system.
• Safely install car seats and booster seats as required.
• Follow written and verbal directions and instructions from supervisors.
• Work effectively with school-age children with special needs.

Requirements

• Age 18+
• Ability to pass a background check, CORI/SORI, and drug screen
• Effectively communicate in English (spoken and written)
