About the position
The Science Permanent Substitute Teacher position at Andover Public Schools is a temporary role designed to fill in for regular teachers from October to January. The teacher will be responsible for delivering high school science classes, collaborating with other educators to develop curriculum and activities, and engaging students through effective teaching methods.
Responsibilities
- Teach classes at the high school level.
- Work with a team of teachers in planning curriculum, activities, and interdisciplinary units.
- Share supervisory responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Massachusetts certification in the appropriate subject area.
- Previous secondary teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize the Socratic approach in teaching.
- Ability to incorporate thinking skills in instruction.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in subject area curriculum development.
- Some computer literacy and familiarity with educational software.
