About the position
Cristo Rey Orange County High School is seeking founding faculty members who are passionate about the mission of providing a rigorous academic education to students from families of limited financial means. The school aims to prepare students for college and life through a unique model that combines academic excellence with real-world work experiences. Faculty members will play a crucial role in shaping the educational environment and supporting students in their intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school's academic standards.
- Support students in their personal and academic growth, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices in instruction.
- Participate in the Corporate Work Study Program by integrating real-world experiences into the classroom.
- Engage with families and the community to promote the school's mission and values.
Requirements
- A strong commitment to the mission of Cristo Rey and the education of students from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in teaching at the high school level, preferably in a college preparatory setting.
- A bachelor's degree in education or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to create a supportive and challenging learning environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with innovative teaching methods and curriculum development.
- Familiarity with the Corporate Work Study Program or similar experiential learning models.
