Responsibilities

  • Create a supportive learning environment.
  • Develop educational programs tailored to the needs of individual students and groups, including vulnerable or special-needs youth.
  • Design a culturally sensitive curriculum.
  • Prepare lesson plans.
  • Contribute to the development and monitoring of student education plans.
  • Use appropriate instructional methods and materials suited to students' well-being and the nature of the learning activities.
  • Establish and enforce classroom policies and procedures in a positive and supportive manner, offering guidance, counseling, and discipline to encourage students to meet standards of achievement and conduct.
  • Communicate with students, parents or guardians, and other staff to provide guidance and evaluation and to encourage student achievement.
  • Maintain accurate grades and student academic evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with performance management, risk reduction, quality improvement, and regulatory requirements through data-driven focus aligned with strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the mission, goals, and objectives of Lad Lake.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Wisconsin teaching certificate
  • Previous experience working with emotionally and behaviorally disabled (EBD) students or vulnerable adolescent populations
  • 2 to 3 years of successful classroom behavior management experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective behavior management techniques
  • Ability to interact positively and confidently with students
  • Equitable approach when working with a diverse student population
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Good judgment
