About the position
The Science Teacher at Prairie Middle School is responsible for delivering effective teaching methods to ensure student success and promote an exemplary educational program. The role involves developing strong relationships within the community and fostering achievement among all students through a well-structured science curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of content area, teaching methods, learning styles, and educational research related to secondary learners.
- Understand the scope and sequence of a science curriculum.
- Align curriculum and assessments with state science content standards.
- Exhibit strong classroom management, communication, organization, and planning skills.
- Differentiate instruction based on the needs of students to positively impact achievement.
- Collaborate with students, teachers, parents, and administrators to demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- Support and actively participate in a professional learning community.
- Collaborate in teaching teams to design curriculum and assessments and pursue best teaching practices.
- Utilize PowerSchool for online attendance, grade book management, and parental access to attendance and grades.
Requirements
- Hold a valid Colorado teaching license in Science.
- Proficiency in using technology.
