The Rockefeller University Press publishes three biomedical research journals: The Journal of Cell Biology, The Journal of Experimental Medicine, and The Journal of General Physiology. We are committed to identifying and publishing the highest quality research. All editorial decisions are made in conjunction with active academic scientists, and peer-review operations and pre-press production functions are carried out at the RUP offices. The Journal of Experimental Medicine (JEM) is a multidisciplinary journal, published by not-for-profit academic publisher Rockefeller University Press (RUP), dedicated to publishing high-quality research in experimental medicine and disease pathogenesis. This is a full-time position in a hybrid-remote setting, with fully remote options considered for candidates with editorial experience. The successful candidate will report to the JEM Executive Editor and work closely with a team of Scientific Editors and experts on JEM academic and associate editorial boards. The role involves assessing submitted manuscripts for scope, originality, rigor, context, and implications, and providing editorial recommendations. Additionally, the candidate will oversee all aspects of the editorial process, including management of peer review for assigned manuscripts, commissioning and recruiting front-matter content, and liaising with RUP marketing and production teams to ensure timely publication and active promotion of JEM articles. The candidate will also promote JEM and RUP policies and initiatives.
