The Scientific Research Analyst II position at LA Economics focuses on supporting the Education Research Alliance for New Orleans and the National Center for Research on Education Access and Choice (REACH). This role involves managing large panel data sets and contributing to original quantitative research projects related to education and non-education topics. The analyst will play a crucial role in studying market-based school reforms, including charter schools and vouchers, while also benefiting from professional development opportunities provided by the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management of large panel data sets.
  • Contribute to original quantitative research projects related to education and non-education topics.
  • Support the work of the Education Research Alliance for New Orleans and REACH.
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze data and present findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in economics, sociology, statistics, education, public policy or related field and 2 years related experience OR a Master's Degree in the same fields.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong partnerships.
  • Highly proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of statistical software applications, especially Stata.
  • Highly proficient research and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to work independently and simultaneously on many complex tasks.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed.
